Returning to Poker – with restrictions
posted by Will on May 8, 2020
We here at Back Door Poker are happy to be able to provide you with free poker opportunities! For the safety of everybody, returning to poker is going to come with a few TEMPORARY changes.
First, we have spoken to most of the venue owners, and they are all looking forward to having us back – but for right now most of them are not reopening until all restrictions are lifted. We are happy to welcome back Bar Vinedo starting Thursday May 28th 2020 at a TEMPORARY start time of 6:0o p.m. as well as on Tuesday at Bar Vinedo starting Tuesday August 11th, 2020 at a TEMPORARY start time of 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Bar Vinedo starting September 27, 2020 at a TEMPORARY start time of 4:30 p.m. What the Hell starting November 1st Mondays at 7:00 p.m. Saturdays 12:30 & 3:00 p.m. Sundays 3:00 & 5:30 p.m. We will back 100% at Queen Creek Cafe, Native, and Sidelines ASAP per the owners!
Points will be awarded and added to the current totals. Because we do not know when all of our venues will be back up and operational, we cannot guarantee a date for the quarterly tournament just yet. The tentative plan is to have the tournament in July with a larger prize pool.
HOW IT WILL WORK:
- We will be playing “Shootout Style” poker. What this means is: 5 tables with 5 people max – each table plays down to a winner, then the winners meet to play down to one final winner. (Heads up at each table will determine points)
- There will be a maximum of 25 people allow to play each game due to capacity restrictions.
- We will be taking RSVP’s for each game to guarantee your spot. You can be up to 15 minutes late, after that you will lose your reserved spot. Everyone is welcome to simply just show up but your spot is not guaranteed if you do not RSVP. If you RSVP and do not show up, you will be unable to reserve a spot going forward. To RSVP, please contact Will via Facebook or text at (480) 593-5329.
- SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- 3 minute break every blind level for a recommended hand washing
- tables will be sanitized every 45 minutes
- chips and cards will be sanitized regularly
- no eating at the poker table
- DO NOT LICK YOUR FINGERS (sweat from a glass works just fine) LOL
- no sharing drink glasses
- hand sanitizer will be available
- if you appear ill, you will be asked to not play until you are feeling better
If you have any further recommendations, comment, concerns – feel free to contact Will at (480) 593-5329.
We look forward to getting back to fun (safe) poker with all of you!
